ANOTHER STORMY DAY
Lyrics by Beverly White & Michael Woodhead

Another stormy day is coming
Looks like hell
I think it’s Armageddon
Break your shell
Another stormy day is coming
Satan’s coming, too
It’s gonna be the last war
Now, whatcha gonna do
Everybody wants to go to heaven
But nobody wants to die
Everybody wants to help somebody
But nobody wants to try
Another stormy day is coming
It’s coming soon
The day sun will be blackened
To blood will turn the moon
Another stormy day is coming
Will you make your peace
There won’t be another chance
For life will cease
Everybody wants to go to heaven
But nobody wants to die
Everybody wants to help somebody
But nobody wants to try
Graffiti Pop
I was 16 years old, in France, babysitting for a neighbour when I first heard I Wanna Hold Your Hand by the Beatles on the radio.
I was awestruck. The melody, the harmonies, the music—it was as if I had never heard anything like that before. Undoubtably, much of their success came from George Martin’s production work, but hearing this new group inspired me to begin writing lyrics.
The music for these songs, even though I heard them in my head, would have to come later when I acquired my first guitar. Until then, I placed little dots over the words to help me remember the tunes.
Just over ten years later, the editor of a Vancouver newspaper (The Georgia Straight?) heard me singing some of my songs, and dubbed them Graffiti Pop because of the 1960s musical influence that seemed to be infused in them. The tag stuck with me, and I’ve used it to describe a lot of my music, in particular my love songs.
ANGEL IN THE MORNING
Lyrics by Patricia ‘Trisha’ Eeckeleers

There is an angel in the morning
Kissed by the wind of a summer’s rain
There is a crowd of people mourning
Stung by the winds that come again
Golden shadows of the angel
Put a glimmer in each eye
[Musical Verse]
Golden shadows of the angel
Put a glimmer in each eye
And there’s a sunrise on my window
Where raindrops will no longer fall
For there’s a moonbeam on the wind below
Casting shadows on the wall
Golden shadows of the angel
Put a glimmer in each eye
A Word from the Composer
Ever since I started writing my songs, I’ve always heard them in my head as something more than just guitar and voice (which is how I used to do them for many years). It’s only since the advent of computer music programs that I’ve been able to add many more ‘voices’ and ‘instruments’. Admittedly, it’s still not ‘professional’ in the recording studio sense of the word, but it’s helping me manifest more and more what I hear in my head as far as my songs are concerned. The music for them pretty much remains the same, I’m just creating more orchestration for them. And, yes, I am going through my songs one-by-one alphabetically. Those posted so far have already been done musically—I’ve just added the vocals. Now I’m working on the songs that have neither orchestration nor vocals yet, so they’ll be posted a lot more sporadically. Hopefully, I can finish them all before I’m dead. LOL Thank you so much to those of you who have been listening, commenting, liking, and re-blogging.
AND WHO SHALL MOURN FOR HIM
Written & Composed by Michael Woodhead

He shall come and die for you
He shall live eternal, too
He shall set you free from sin
And who shall mourn for him
And who shall mourn for him
And who shall mourn for him
Know that the way is open to you
He is Love, love is the way
Know that God is waiting for you, too
He is Love, love is the way
Day and night, he prays for all
In our eyes, he stands so tall
Night and day, sends the seraphim
And who shall mourn for him
And who shall mourn for him
And who shall mourn for him
Know that the way is open to you
He is Love, love is the way
Know that God is waiting for you, too
He is Love, love is the way
[Musical Interlude]
Know that the way is open to you
He is Love, love is the way
Know that God is waiting for you, too
He is Love, love is the way
He shall come and die for you
He shall live eternal, too
He shall set you free from sin
And who shall mourn for him
And who shall mourn for him
And who shall mourn for him

She was a princess, and I—a star rover

It was love, then, I knew
And so, I did woo

‘Twas in the tavern of Rigel I told her
Amalla
That I would win her, and I would hold her
Amalla
And then, she said to me
“Your life and mine are free”
Amalla
Da da da da
Da da da da dah
Da da da da dah

Twas in the Palace of Love I did wed her
Amalla
And that night, in our room, I did bed her

And now, our life’s complete
Together, we sail with the StarFleet

YOU’RE GONNA LEAVE ME SAD
Written & Composed by Michael Woodhead

I’ve been loved like this before
And I’ve been hurt so bad
If all you’re gonna do is tease me so
Then, you’re gonna leave me sad
Leave me sad, leave me sad
I’ve been kissed before like this
And I’ve been missed here, too
But, if it’s you that I’m gonna miss
Then you’re gonna leave me blue
Leave me blue, leave me blue
You’ve hurt me so bad
You just left me sad
But I know that I love you so
I just hope you never go
One of these days, you’re gonna see
You’re gonna make me mad
Cause if you’re gonna tease me so
Then, you’re gonna leave me sad
Leave me sad, leave me sad
You’ve hurt me so bad
You just left me sad
But I know that I love you so
I just hope you never go
I’ve been loved like this before
And I’ve been hurt so bad
If all you’re gonna do is tease me so
Then, you’re gonna leave me sad
Leave me sad, leave me sad
You’re 18

O, well, now, you’re eighteen
You ain’t got no guy
To give you his lovin’
Hold you when you cry
Well, baby, won’t you take me
Cause then you’ll see
That I will love you so-woh
O, well, now, you’re eighteen
And now, you’re in love
And, now, it’s me
That you’re thinking of
Well, baby, I’m glad to see
It’s me you need
Cause I will love you so-woh
Well, I’ve been waiting for you to come
And let me be your only boy
Yeah, I’ve been praying and a-worryin’ some
But, now, you give me your love and joy
[Musical Verse]
Well, I’ve been waiting for you to come
And let me be your only boy
Yeah, I’ve been praying and a-worryin’ some
But, now, you give me your love and joy
O, well, now, you’re eighteen
And you’re gonna be mine
Now and forever
And ever in time
Well, baby, I’m glad to see
You love me tenderly
Cause I will love you so-woh
Well, I’ve been waiting for you to come
And let me be your only boy
Yeah, I’ve been praying and a-worryin’ some
But, now, you give me your love and joy
YOUR LOVE HAS CHANGED MY LIFE
Written & Composed by Michael Woodhead

Your love has changed my life
I face the mortal’s strife
And there I rest
Upon your breast
Your love has changed my life
I play upon my fife
I won’t condemn
Your requiem
Your love has changed my life
I ponder on a knife
But still I cry
For I will die
Your love has changed my life
I faced the mortal’s strife
Who wished me dead
Upon your bed
Your love has changed my life
I sought me then a wife
But, do not grieve
Do not deceive
Your love has changed my life
I pondered on a knife
But kissed your teat
So bittersweet
